CWRT HONORARIA & DUES
SPEAKER HONORARIA SURVEY REVISED ANALYSIS
This analysis controlled for duplicate responses, eliminated responses from respondents unaware of their CWRT's policies on honoraria and/or reimbursement and excluded all responses from a CWRT that were in conflict with one another.
Proven Practices
- Speaker honoraria are dependent on factors including distance traveled, CWRT's ability to pay, etc. While some CWRTs provide a modest amount, others give generously for the speaker's time, experience and presentation.
- Those CWRTs that provide an honorarium to out-of-town speakers most often provide $50 and $150.
- Expense reimbursements are generally provided to out-of-town speakers so as to defray their costs.
- Some CWRTs provide both an honorarium and expense reimbursement. Although that practice is limited to larger CWRTs with more robust fundraising practices.
- A majority of CWRTs charge members annual dues between $20 and $50. The mode is $25.
