SUNDAY TOUR - George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital
We have arranged through Wayne Motts, CEO of the Gettysburg Foundation, to have an optional tour of the Spangler Farm on Sunday, August 28th.
The Gettysburg Foundation did an enormous amount of planning, fundraising, research and restoration on the farm. This is a before and after look at the barn that served as a field hospital.
During and after the battle, wounded were brought to the farm and were treated and housed in each of the buildings. The barn was the focal point for the hospital, surgeons and staff. Today, it is an education center.
